About the photographer


Naomi Cohen is a multimedia artist, who is based in Montreal. Choosing to explore commercial photography, she brings new concept to the understanding of light and motion and introduces new ideas towards breaking the fourth wall within 2D imagery. Each image fuses the audience to subject and she “captures the true sense of any moment.”


Since 2007, she has been working as a commercial photographer, covering weddings and events, fashion and make-up for local designers, personal portfolios, and product imagery for catalogues.


She has provided work for various Montreal artists and distributors, such as;


    - Montreal based magazine; L’Injecteur

    - Fashion designer and retail store; Mariouche ‘Harricana’

    - Local musicians; 4DZ and Shardes of Jade

    - Products for; Master Editions and Collectibles , Faya Design, and Neon Clothing


As well as, one of Canada’s most recognized non-profit organisation; aiding in the rehabilitation of street youth;


    - Le Bon Dieu Dans la Rue


Choosing to not only to pursue commercial imagery, Cohen has also contributed work to collective art exhibits in Montreal.


Influenced by the marketing evolution during the 30’s 40’s and 50’s, her work is stylized with animated imagery. Visual influences from David LaChapelle and Diane Arbus, has framed her ideas of image narration.
